A new normal. Uncharted territory. Whatever you call it, 2020 has been rough on the business world. EBI leaders share what they’ve learned.
Employees are thankful for co-workers, bosses, and the good work they’ve still been able to do, despite the pandemic.
We’re all in the same boat. So, we asked EBI employees to share the biggest life lessons they’ve learned from their children during 2020.
While virtual meetings have become vital to keeping co-workers connected during COVID-19, you would probably be hard-pressed to find an HR manager who cheers the idea of making hiring decisions this way. Not only do you lose some of the gut feeling you get when meeting someone face-to-face, but there are also plenty of things that can go wrong.
Working from home was a shock for many of us. COVID-19 took the decision out of our hands. At first, we adjusted to this new normal and balanced home school or social distancing with work duties. We set up home “offices” and became literate in remote technology. We helped isolated family, friends, and neighbors cope.
Then the novelty wore off and the frustrations and stresses set in. Four weeks into the coronavirus pandemic, our nerves are frayed.
But in this time of uncertainty, the ability to have a positive mindset is a key component of our overall health and wellbeing. We turned to EBI’s own Human Resources team for some inspiring ways to boost morale.
